An experiment was conducted using 72 weaned piglets, from a farm positive for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, to evaluate the effects of the fructooligosaccharide (FOS) and olaquindox diet supplementation to the diet on pigs performance, intestinal microbiota, blood parameters (eritrogam, number of platelets and immunoglobulin G – IgG) from 21 to 63 days of age. Feed program was pre-starter, starter I and starter II diets corresponding in days after weaning: zero to 14, 15 to 28 and 29 to 42 days, respectively. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four treatments (T) and six replications: T1 - without FOS supplementation diet; T2 - 0.2% FOS supplementation diet; T3 – without FOS and with 25 olaquindox ppm diet; T4 - 0.2% FOS and 25 olaquindox ppm supplementation diet. Fructooligosaccharide and olaquindox supplementation to the diets did not affect the average feed intake, average daily gain, feed:gain ratio, intestinal microbiota and blood parameters for any of the tested feeding periods.
