Abstract

A 4-year-old mixed-breed dog, male, presented a reddish and friable mass in the right orbit. The lesion was subjected to examination by imprint cytology and it was observed a homogeneous population of mononuclear cells with numerous cytoplasmic vacuoles, typical of TVT. After the result, was held exenteration of the right eye. Macroscopically, after longitudinal section the affected eye was displayed two white masses, soft, regular, with 1.0 cm and 0.8 cm in diameter, located in the sclera and cornea. The mass invaded the anterior chamber of the right eye. The diagnosis of TVT was also confirmed on histopathology. It was not possible to define the exact access road (metastasis or implantation) to the neoplasm in the orbit. However, in these cases, the implantation is more frequent, leading them to believe in its occurrence.
