Abstract

The aim of this study was to report a canine histiocytic sarcoma on skin and submandibular
and retrofaríngeous lymph nodes in a German Shepherd spayed female dog, ten years old.
The clinical signs observed were cough, dyspnea, subcutaneous nodule, lymphomegaly and
increase in diameter of the neck. Were performed an erythrogram, leucogram, blood serum
biochemistry, urinalysis, chest X rays and abdominal ultrasound. The cytology exam result
was rounded cells cancer. The euthanasia was performed and subsequently the necropsy,
histopathology exam and immunohistochemistry exam, with the diagnosis of disseminate
histiocytic sarcoma. The diagnostic complementary exams changes were not conclusive for a
definitive diagnosis, contrary of histopathology and immunohistochemistry exams, which
allowed a conclusive result. The immunohistochemistry allowed to establish the tumor
histiocytic origin and was observed a CD3-
and lysozim positive giant cells.
