Abstract

Transmissible Venereal Tumour (TVT) or Sticker's Lymphosarcoma, is a contagious neoplasm that affects sexually active dogs, causing cauliflower-like lesions in the sexual organs or oronasal region. The objective of this work was to report a case in which a dog, female, mixed breed, 6 months old and not castrated, was referred for undergoing abdominal ultrasonography due to the weight loss complaint. After the ultrasound findings, the chest X-ray and cytology of the nodules found were performed, where the diagnosis of TVT was confirmed. This report draws attention to the presence of TVT in the lungs even in animals without respiratory alterations, highlighting the importance of complementary methods for an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment in a case with non-specific symptoms which are common in the medical clinic.
