Diseases affecting the coelomic cavity of snakes are still a major challenge in veterinary medicine due to the non-specificity of symptoms, the number of specimens and their anatomical peculiarities. Radiographic examination helps with diagnosis and is very popular in reptile clinics due to its accessibility, cost-effectiveness and ease of use. The objective of this work is to develop a comparative study of the radiographic anatomy of the coelomic cavity of the Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus) with the literature described to assist in clinical routine. Seven animals of the species, of undetermined sex and age, were selected, totaling 179 lateral images from the collection of the Veterinary Radiology sector of the Universidade Estadual Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro – UENF concerning the coelomic cavity of P. guttatus snakes. The selected images were edited, analysed and compared with reports already described in the literature for species of the same order and family. The literature data was collected from platforms and collections available online. The structural arrangement of the radiographic anatomy of the coelomic cavity of the species studied resembles the pattern found in other species already described in its family and order.
