Bovine leptospirosis is a cosmopolitan disease caused by microorganisms of the genus Leptospira, compromising production and productivity levels. It has relevant importance for public health, especially for people who have contact with animals, work activities in general, as well as slaughterhouse. The aim of this literature review was to evaluate the etio-epidemiological, diagnostic and control aspects of this zoonosis, which is relevant to public health and has a negative impact on cattle ranching, especially dairy farming. Human leptospirosis is within the context of one health affecting the animal, the human being with the participation of the environment through the maintenance of the agent.
