Abstract

Isolated pathogens from mammary glands, regardless the type of mastitis, subclinical or
clinical, may be a hazard to consumer`s health. There are contagious and environmental
mastitis with the involvement of a large number of microorganisms varying the importance
from the epidemiological view and pathogenesis. This report demonstrates the participation of
Geotrichum candidum in the etiology of mastitis and discusses aspects related to the
occurrence.
